I recently got Raiya back from the vet. She had a bout of vomiting and anorexia, which lead to hepatic lipodosis. She has been eating on her own, but I'm concerned she isn't eating enough. She has been eating Recovery wet food. She only eats about a teaspoon at a time, and will eat a few kibbles and temptations. She weighs 3.5kg (or almost 8lbs) How much recovery should she eat in a day? I have been assist feeding her, started today.

Didn't the Vet tell you?  I would think probably an entire can of the Recovery every day, but, honestly, your Vet should have told you how much, especially since you will be assist feeding.  How much and how often.  You don't want to give her too much at any one time, because it might come back up.  No feeding tube, huh?

for a quick recovery

I asked how much she was eating, when we picked her up, and she told us 1/2 a can. I decided to assist feed her, I was not satisfied with the amount she has been eating. Makes me fell better, I know she ate it. I don't want her to end up back at the vet. I am also a very paranoid mommy.

Mot paranoid at all.  Caring, and wanting to make sure she's going to be ok
.  I would probably try to get an entire can into her, if possible.  She needs as many nutrients as possible.  'course, don't assist feed her so much that it comes right back up
.  Does the can offer any help...you know. this many ounces based on the weight of your cat?

I'd feed at least 1/2 can as the vet's office indicated but would give her more if she would eat it. Like everyone else has said, if she eats too much it might just come back up. Best of luck to you!

I phoned the vet today, and she said that 1/2 a can would be ok. Since she is also eating kibble on her own. So I assist fed her that today. She'll only sit long enough for about a 20ml syringe at a time. Then she starts to get angry.
So I'm giving it to her 3-4 times a day. She's starting to look better. Not so skinny in the sides. I hoping that when we take her back on the 27th for a check up and to get her stitches removed she will have gained some weight back.
How do I know when to stop assist feeding? How will I know when her hepatic lipidosis is gone?

Until she is eating at least the 1/2 can all by herself, I would continue to assist feed her.  HL takes a long to recover from.  There may be some days when she won't need any help, but others that she will, so you'll need to monitor her intake for several weeks, I'd say.
