Falalalalaaa!

We're really in the Christmas Spirit here at work. I've started a Secret Santa with everyone 3 years ago, and it's still going great! Previously it was a Grab Bag, and I thought it was so impersonal.

Right now, we're discussing Christmas Music.

Whats your favorite Christmas song? and sang by who?

I enjoy Silver Bells (I forget the male singer, at the moment) and Rudolph!

I love The Man From Galilee by Christy Lane. I am going to the nursing home this afternoon with a group of friends to sing and play music. It is one of the songs I am singing.:lol3:

I have vague memories of hearing several Christmas carols done by Irene Selemka. in person; maybe it was just her singing over the congregation?? It was the routine stuff we do (Silent Night, O Come All Ye Faithful, etc), but I remember that voice.....not the person however. Regardless, I was smitten with her voice and some of it stuck from way back in the 50s

Anything by Judy Garland in the movie "Meet Me In St. Louis". I love all of her songs in that movie!

I love Christmas Carol by the Oak Ridge Boys.

I also love the old songs like Silent Night and O Little Town of Bethleham, but you never hear them anymore.

I just love Deck the Halls, probably because I love decorating for Christmas so much. I'll even sing it during the summer and have been known to walk in the halls singing, "Fa la la la la, la la la la!" much to my co-workers' dismay. They finally told me that I cannot sing, hum or whistle the song until at least the beginning of November.

This year, I've had trouble getting into the Christmas thing...too much other stuff going on, I guess and I haven't falalala'ed much at all. But just yesterday afternoon, one of the guys walked into my office and said, "You know, it's really not Christmas without you singing Deck the Halls! Sing!" And I falala'ed a little bit. And then the three of us started singing. And it was finally Christmas!

(Have I ever mentioned how much I love my co-workers? Honestly, those guys are a hoot!)

Traditional, probably Winter Wonderland.

Non-traditional, Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses
