Some neighborhoods have a buncha stray dogs, but we have Cats
But i like cats better any way
But i love animals and try to take care of them, Rite now there r 3 adult females and 5+ males that r grown, But some male r too feral...
and i cant really help them but give them food....But i dont really like the feral male that runs round and beats them up, but its his nature to defend his territory.
and all the females have litters now too, but my neighbors dont help cuz they only make it worse ..... Long story though

Hi CatLover chic,

I know what your dealing with being in a neighborhood with so many homeless cats. I have been working to control that situation where I live for over four years now.

I got involved in TNR (Trap Neuter Return) through my local Humane Society. I get the traps from them and take them in on the days they are spaying and neutering. This stops them from producing more cats, which if not done will create an overwhelming situation of many starving, sick, diseased and dieing cats.

In many cases you can get help with the trapping too. If you want to do something that will truly help these sad helpless little creatures, this would be the very best thing you could do.

Please call your local Humane Society and find out if they have a TNR program. You will be very glad you did, when you see what a difference it makes in their lives.

If you need more information just post in this thread and I'll do anything I can to help you with this.

I totally agree with PurrfectCat.   Giving food and a lot of sympathy to these homeless little brethren is big and nice, but it will be great firstly when you have a long term plan with it.  TNR and or adoptions.

If not, the risk is they will be just more and more...

So the way to go is to find (or start yourself) a good group working with TNR and or Rescue programme. It may be with the local Humane Society. Now, not all H.S. works with semiferales. Many works just with tame, abandoned homeless... But in that case, there are surely some other Rescue group nearby working with TNR...

Just seek and research some, and you should find.

Their problem is often not the catching and TNRíng as such, but find a local caretaker to cooperate with, who will take care of the "colony" afterwards, when they are TNRed...

Voilá!  And here you are again, with your big heart and your lots of sympathy. Just the right person for it....

You dont must do everything alone. But you must find the right way, and the right people to get help from, to work together with.

Tx a lot for caring!!!

Welcome to our Forum!

Good luck!!!!
