Well, Mina see a little better today, more life in her and she was very happy to see Faith and wanted to be cuddled. So she must be feeling better. They tried her with a little warmed up food while Faith was there, but she literally ran away from it. The vet said not to try too hard as it might cause a food aversion. So they are going on with the tube feeding.But Faith is feeling more optimistic, though that is a very dangerous thing to write.

Take it one day at a time right now. That's really all you both can do. So glad to hear that today is new day of some hope and improvements!

Mina has started to eat! Only a teaspoon or so at a time but at least she is showing intrerest and is so far keeping it down. And she did a poo this morning - both huge milestones. They are not forcing her, she is still being tube fed, but they are gradually going to reduce the amounts to see if it will encourage her to eat. Faith said she was very affectionate at her visit today and much more aware of her surroundings. Early days, but all looking good.

That's great news! :clap::clap::clap: Lots of :vibes::vibes::vibes: that she continues to eat, her appetite improves and she feels a lot better soon.

I was so busy yesterday I could not get online. Mina ate a little tuna, but her fever has returned. The vet said it is not too alarming - some fluctuation is normal, and she still seems happier in herself - wants to be petted adn to have attention. Faith is going to see her this morning on her way to my brother's family for Christmas lunch. They are going to teach Faith to do the tube feeding and hope that maybe if she continues to recover she could go home at the end of the week. Faith is understandably nervous that she will not be able to cope or to recognise any warning signs. It doesn't help, of course, that the vet is 40 miles away from her new home.

Wanting attention and eating some tuna sound promising. I can understand Faith being nervous, especially with another holiday coming up. Has she gotten any recommendations for a closer vet, just in case?
Continued :vibes::vibes::vibes: for little Mina.

Aw, I hope her fever goes away. That can happen actually but hopefully like the others said that wanting attention and eating a little is a good sign. Tube feeding will be the best thing for her when she gets home at this point. 40 miles!!! Wow!

Aww.... :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

Yes, can she get a referral to a local vet?

Tuxie's vet is about 30 miles away from us. But we also have a local vet, that's just a few miles - about 10 minutes. They're great for regular problems or emergencies. Maybe Faith can find a similar set up? :cross:

Faith has only just moved house, a week ago, and of course she will find a local vet as soon as she can. But she totally trusts t he vet hospital where Mina is being treated and would be very reluctant to move her at this stage. She did not go yesterday as the animals were being checked on at different times of day by the duty vet, and the practice as such was closed, but she is going back today. The report was that Mina is still eating a little on her own and her fever has gone down again. So please keep those vibes coming - something is working!

Of course she's reluctant to move. When you find a good vet that has saved the life of your cat ( !!! :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: ) the last thing you want is a new vet. Because Tuxie was going to need long term care, we moved out of the RV and into a house so we could be 10 minutes from his vet. I meant a referral to a local vet for when Mina comes home and in the event of an emergency (knock wood). :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

So glad her fever's come down! Continued vibes for further progress! :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:
