I was seeking for very safe natural cat anesthetics
and found out that natural anesthetics are opium, coca, curare, alcohol, hemp, mandrake etc..
I am not sure if ether or chloroform or GHB is natural or not.
and some extract from opium, curare and mandrake is still used for anesthesia.in moder times.
I have a Papaver somniferum seeds and mandrake is planted and sprouted successfully.but the morphine from my papaver somniferum and  atropine, scopolamine from my mandrake is not available now.
but I can buy ether ,chloroform and alcohol easily right now..
In terms of health, Ether is very safe or might be safer than Isoflurane.
I heard that farmers sometimes use only ether for paralyzing their cat
so, I started to read 'Manual of etherization', which is a free ebook from Google
but there is not cat etherization method in the book..

There is NO safe anasthetic, and isoflourane is far safer than ether for a variety of reasons.

This thread has been restored after temporarily being removed from the board. Frankly, we weren't sure if this is even a legitimate query of a trolling attempt.

I'm returning this to the board to convey a very clear message to the OP -

Under no circumstances should you try to medicate your cat without consulting with a veterinarian.

Specifically, anesthetics is extremely complicated and dangerous! Do not attempt to induce anesthesia or "paralysis" or any kind at home. Ever.

you said that isoflurane is more safe than ether.

you meant that only "in terms of fire hazards"?

It can't explode if you are careful

ether only affect liver

where did you get the information about the fact that isoflurane is safer than ether

\

thank you

Ether has not been used as an anasthetic for humans or animals for a long, long time.  Isoflourane and so on have taken over from it - it's now rarely used in human anasthesia.  THis isn't just because ether is a fire hazard, it's more likely to lead to nausia and vomiting afterwards and is toxic to the liver and kidneys.

The biggest danger, however, is that the difference between a dose sufficient to anaesthatise and one that is lethal to 50% of people (LD50) is very small.

All this is public information freely available via Google.
