Strange potty habit.

We have two litterboxes for Simon and I had noticed before that there was never any poop in the box in our bedroom and no pee in the box in our bathroom but today I witnessed something odd. Simon strolled into the bathroom which I was using(I never get to shut the bathroom door at this point sigh) did his business then walked straight to the other box to finish up. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this? I'm not really concerned about it just puzzled, and kind of amused honestly. LOL I wonder if he just doesn't want the stinkies where Mom and Dad sleep.

Many cats do this out of instinct and prefer to poop in one and pee in another box. That's why it's usually recommended that you get two boxes per cat.

My cats do the same thing. If you look at outside cats, they will rarely poop and pee in the same spot.
