Is it a good sign that my two cats (one new. . . . one old) have "kissed" noses without hissing or growling?

The new cat still chases the older one all over tarnation and stresses her out, but twice now in the past few days they actually stopped to smell each other's faces.

I am hoping that this is a sign that things might improve eventually.

Zoey met my neighbors 4 month old kittens and they all touched noses and Zoey didnt hiss so I think that is a good sign.

She did hiss though when she smelled the butt

Nose greeting is a part of greeting each other when the tail is up and not shaking . It is smelling them out and after no hissing happen they are ok with each other .
