My cats have eaten it for breakfast twice this week and love it!!  Even my Eko, who is suspicious of new things, ate most of it on the second try.

My cats are eating mostly Hare Today raw (with alnutrin added.)  But we have a local holistic pet food store and I picked up a 2 lb chub of Bravo Blends (chicken) and stuck it in the freezer a while back.  I packaged it and started serving it this week while we waited for our next shipment of Hare Today.

There are so many choices of different formulas with Bravo.  The Blends seemed like the most "table ready" because it has bones and organs.  But it also has a few veggies.  I'm not sure the percentage of veggies.....maybe the company could tell me.  It looks so meaty though and even bloody (yum!)  I noticed they don't add taurine.  I studied their website and they recommend certain supplements be added for cats.  I have a cat multivitamin that has some taurine and B vitamins.  My cats also get omega 3s added to their diet.  Anyways, I haven't decided whether those multivitamins will be a daily thing, but I thought of giving them one just on the days I feed Bravo?  Does that sound like a good plan?

I like that the Bravo is affordable (I may get a bigger chub next time) and available locally.  I love Hare Today but it would help with costs to add in something I can find locally too.  I'm not sure how often I would add it in.  I'm curious what the folks here think of Bravo.

Here are the ingredients in the chicken blend I bought....

ETA:  I just had this thought.....Maybe when I'm packaging the chubs I could add some alnutrin supplement just like I do with the Hare Today.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Bravo started as a human meat company. It is a quality company with a quality product: the pet foods are produced in the same USDA facility.

This is a "Bravo blend," not the "Balanced Blend?" I don't know what the meat/bone/organ mix is (in either one), you may want to contact them to find out. I think the only difference is some supplements. I used the Bravo 100% meats on several occasions, and they were very meaty and juicy!

And yes, you could add alnutrin!

It is the Blend not the Balance.  I just compared them side by side and the Blend seems preferable to me....less ingredients and more protein.  The Blend seems to be what the pet food store has in their freezer and I like that I can just pick it up.  I'm sure they could special order any other formulas for me though.

Judging by the nutritional analysis provided on their web site all but the Chicken Blend have a high calcium to phosphorus ratio which indicates they are high in bone.

The ratios:

Chicken Blend - 1.1:1

Lamb Blend - 1.4:1

Beef Blend - 1.5:1

Turkey Blend - 1.8:1

Pork Blend - 1.9:1

A ratio of 1:1 to 1.5:1 is considered appropriate. I target 1.1:1 myself.

My kittens came to me already eating bravo beef.

The chubs you got is the "Blend" line and yes, have no supplements in that they are not trying to claim "aafco standards."

The "Balance Blend" line only comes in patties (4oz) and you are limited to chicken, turkey and beef.

What I like most of Bravo is the vac sealed pattie system.

They defrost so fast (compared to radcat and auntijenis that come in plastic tubs).

And the pattie size of 4oz is the perfect portion for a single meal.  (the Blend line comes in 8oz patties).

Thanks for this.  I'm not skilled enough yet in label reading to have picked up on that.  Maybe we'll stick with the chicken and try the occasional lamb.  Again, Hare Today will continue to be our main source of food, but I like the looks of Bravo as a back up.  I think I will contact them to see if they can provide info on the percentage of veggies, bones, etc...
