So my ginger female cat (3 years old) ran away for a week, she came back and her personality had changed. Much more calm and loving then usual. She put on some weight and her nipples went very pink and swollen. I assumed she was pregnant.

I did feel her stomach during the supposed pregnancy  and I though I felt definite kittens (not many of them as she wasn't showing very much).

Now 55 days later she is displaying signs of extreme heat. She is meowing, rolling around, trying to escape the room and there is a clear discharge. I can't feel the supposed kittens anymore.

She also had a bit of black discharge displayed the past few days.

What is happening? Is she actually pregnant? If so, is she in labor? Why is she acting so insane right now?

Clear discharge is normal in labour, black is not. It sounds like she may have an infection, please get her vet checked asap.

She could have been pregnant and is now miscarrying.

Either way, after getting vet checked please get her spayed.

Thanks for the reply.

Now that I think back to it, the black thing in her downstairs region could have been poop. Then again I'm not sure.

She is very calm at the moment, just sleeping.

I think I'll call the vet tomorrow, I'm hoping she doesn't miscarriage.

Thank you :)

They can have diarrhea shortly before delivery.  Although is hardly diarrhea black. If black - may be hemmorhage (bleeding) somewhere inside.

So, whatever you do - go check at vet. It may be  serious.

Good luck!
