Hey, all! Long time no post.

As evidenced by my lack of involvement other than the occasional lurk, I've been working a lot lately. When I went to give Crumb his triweekly nail trim tonight, I was shocked to discover one of his back claws was badly damaged. He hasn't been limping, bleeding, or complaining at all! He didn't even complain when I touched it. It seems to still be encased, but while the rational part of me assumes he probably got it stuck somewhere and then ripped it off

It is a bit yellowed. Any thoughts?

Ouchie!  That doesn't look good at all.  I'd get him to the vet to be sure it doesn't develop an infection, or at least call them and ask what to look for.  You could try soaking it in some warm epsom salt water if you can get him to tolerate it.

It looks OK, for a broken nail. Just keep an eye on it and call the vet if it looks gooey or angry red. They usually heal up just fine, though.
