Depending on where you live it could be Bobcat fever. My cat died of the same thing the same way. I felt so bad for him. Took him to emergency clinic and it would have been over $1000 but found out that what they would have done wouldn't have helped at all.

This thread looks like it's in response to someone else's concerning their cat that is sick. Since it's your first post, could it be that you meant to reply to a post instead of starting up a new thread? If I knew which one, I could get someone to merge it into the right one.
But in the meantime, I'm sorry to hear your cat died of Bobcat fever. I've never heard of that, but just searched on Google and see that the "cure" rate is now about 60%. How long ago did your cat get it? Are you in the Southern U.S.?
