Hi! I am new to the site. I thought there may be some people out there with some insight to my situation. Anyways, my cat Olive is almost 2 years old. We got her as a 4-6 week old kitten from a terrible hoarding-like situation. She was extremely malnourished and EXTREMELY infected with worms, and was tiny also because of the fact that she was the runt. Since she was a baby, her third eyelid never seemed to retract all the way. It happens in both of her eyes and never covers any part of her pupil. I would say i could describe it as similar to what people have in the corner of their eyes, so you can only see a small bit of a pinkish triangle in the corner of both her eyes. Other than her situation as a baby and a very minor URI as a kitten, she has never been sick. Could this be normal or even possibly a birth defect/mutation? Thank you!

P.s. she has had normal vet checks and has had her blood taken which came out normal as well. I never have asked the vets about this so I don't know if it is possible if they just didn't notice it.

Welcome to TCS
. I also have a cat with a little bit of his third eyelid showing in both eyes. I adopted  him when he was a young stray kitten  and he has always been that way. He has had a few vet check-ups and he's healthy. I forgot to mention it to the vet too, but i guess they didn't think it was a problem because they didn't seem to notice. I think he was just born that way.
