I love my cat and am so distraught that he has a blockage. But whats worse is that the emergency vet estimated that the surgery to fix him would be around 3000 to 3500 outright, no payment plans. Now i have to wait until monday to take him to our own vet and see how much they will charge to help him. I'm hoping they will be willing to do a payment plan with me because other wise i do not know what to do to help him. He's only a year and a half and just a lover, the very thought of losing him is distressing. Has anyone known of a vet who would  be willing to do a payment plan with a patient? I'm stressing myself out trying to figure out how to make it happen.

I have the care credit already and i only have a limit of 700 dollars and i spent 500 just figuring out what was wrong with him. I'm just at such a loss as to what to do.

Well, I would think that if you have an established relationship with your Vet, he might work with you, plus it should be less at a regular Vet than at an ER Vet.

BUT, did the ER Vet say it could wait until tomorrow?  Sometimes these things are critical.  Here is a link for information on obtaining financial aid when your pet is sit, which may or may not help:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/155462/cant-afford-a-vet-please-read

Please keep us posted on how your little guy does

If the ER vet doesn't need payment up front, I'd have the work done and worry about paying later.  I would not wait to see my regular vet as the cat may die in the meantime.  This type of thing is serious and can be fatal.  I would again explain the situation to the ER vet and ask them to please work with you on a payment plan.

The vet would only take Care Credit and my credit limit for that was well below a $1000. Thankfully he did fine until Monday when I got him into my regular Vet. Believe it or not the cost the Emergency vet quoted me at was $3000 to $3500 and my Vet did it for $227 right when I brought him in. The object was a heart shaped almost eraser which I have no clue where it could have come from, it's edges where all smooth and his Intestine was not damaged. I know it was something that should of been addressed on the spot but money truly was a factor, I simply didn't have the means for what they were asking. Needless to say I spent the last several days praying for him to hold on. He is on the mend though and should be home tomorrow and I am so grateful to my Vet for helping me save him.

Im so glad it's done now, and for so much cheaper than that ER vet.  Wow...that's incredible!

for a quick recovery.
