Hi, all!

I spent my childhood with dogs, but after I turned 18, and living independently, I found that my lifestyle no longer suited dogs... and my childhood dog died so I didn't have the heart for another dog.

My roommate took on a wild cat, a very energetic black boy with a spot on his chest that wouldn't go near anyone until, for some reason, he took a shine to me. My roommate made me find someone else to rehome him for lame reasons. That little guy remembered me 8 months later when I visited and wouldn't leave my side, although he bonded with the friend I gave him to, and I started to see that cats could be great companions.

A couple of years later, I moved to a farm near Swift Current, Saskatchewan, and their cat population was a bit out of control, along with sicknesses. I took it into my hands when I found the farm dog with something in her mouth. Made her drop it, and I was still unsure what it was, since it had curled into itself. I poke it with a stick (stupid, I know, but I had NO idea what it was at the time) only to have a hissing kitty revealed. I run for a box and blanket, as it became obvious he was hurt. I grab him by his scuff quickly and put him in the box and brought him to my room. I later found out he was very sick, and he slept for 3 days. That cat later became my beloved fluffy. He played fetch, slept in the most awkward positions, sat and shook paws on command, went on walks and runs on a leash, and greeted everyone that came through the door. Never hissed once in his life, and only stopped purring when he was out cold! Unfortunately, he died from an UTI, which led to a blocked bladder. It went unnoticed because I was away, and the catsitter did not think anything of his unusual behavior until it was at a critical level, and he was rushed to the vet. I'm glad I at least saved him once, and I now caution everyone about the signs and dangers of UTI in cats, especially males!

He has a surviving brother, Bo Peep, now known as bobo, who I originally rescued after fluffy. I rescued three litters of feral kittens after finding fluffy and realizing the other kittens were probably in bad shape, tamed them, and made sure they were all healthy. But when I first laid eyes on him, it was love at first sight. He was blind with a bad infection and had unusual markings. I fed him from my fingers as he wouldn't eat any other way for two weeks. Needless to say, he and I are inseparable. He's pretty ordinary otherwise. Lazy, serene, curious, and disregards "no." Only capable of being on a leash for walks, sits, and loves car rides. He's great with babies and kids, so great that I loan him to the neighbor's kid once in a while. He and fluffy were my Yin and Yang, and have completely ruined me. In a good way. :)

I've also taken in a new 5 month old kitten, a black boy with a spot on his chest, to keep bobo company when I'm not around. He's a sweet and energetic cat, only took one night to adjust. Now, he follows bobo around and bats at him to try to play. I'll find out what his personality is once I've had him longer.

Can you tell I could be a certifiable crazy cat lady, writing novels about my furries? Maybe I shouldn't mention the tattoo over my heart I got that resembles Fluffy's ink pawprint? I've also fostered around 17 cats/kittens over 3 years? Haha. Cats are such unexpected creatures, aren't they?
