So the dreaded appointment of getting Lily spayed is finally over with. She did really well. When  I took Callie in a few months ago, when i picked her up, she was MAD. But Lily was very happy to see me. Its kinda ironic how the after care instructions say "your pet will be sleepy and sedate for the next 24 hours or so" Yeah, I wish! Lily was high as a kite when I brought her home, and very wound up, She had a vindetta against Callie, callie came up to greet her, and Lily hissed and growled at her, so I had to keep Callie away from her while lily came off the anesthesia. Shes eating normally again, she ate a few hours after being home, and ate really well this morning. I'm hoping when I give her her dose of pain meds this evening, it will make her more sleepy and she will actually rest. She's actng like nothing happened, but I'd rather her rest up so she can recover fast.

The wonderful part of getting them done young is that they do recover very quickly, arriving home like nothing has happened and with such a tiny incision.

Keep her in a boring room at first with nothing to jump and climb on, I've never given meds at home after spays. It's actually better they aren't doped up as that can mask the pain for them so they can injure themselves
