I'm filling in for Draco today.

So, the question of the day is - Have you ever had surgery?





I never have had surgery. The closest I have come is a needle biopsy.

Yeah, I had an absess on my back, was awful and painful

Had my tubes tied when I was 19 years old, a complete hysterectomy when I was 24, and gallbladder removal when I was 53. Oh, and knee surgery two years ago.....I was 55 then. (I know, I'm ancient!!!!)

Unfortunately yes: a tonsillectomy in my 30s, hysterectomy in my 40s and a thyroidectomy two years ago, plus some more minor operations.

l had my tubes tied right after having my third child at 30.

Then l had a benign breast lump removed at around 40.

Ohh ohh! I had my thyroid taken out yesterday!! Not fun.

At age 19 I had my tonsils removed too.

I had my wisdom teeth out under twilight sedation. Is that surgery? :tongue2:

Other than tonsils when I was a kid, nope, not unless being patched and stitched back together counts.

I had my Gallbladder remove when I was 20. I had a lymph node biopsy at 29. At 42 I had surgery to try and repair my tubes. I had my tonsils out at 45. I had carpel tunnel at 49. I had a small tumor removed at 50.

The first time I was put "under" was when I was a teen and had a breast lump removed, in my 30's when I was pregnant I had a laparoscopy then emergency exploratory surgery (it was an ectopic pregnancy), also later a cesarean (complication of the ectopic pregnancy) when our daughter was born. Also some day surgeries - wisdom teeth out, implant, that type of thing, if those count. UGH.

In February 2005, I had a quadruple bypass surgery, then in October 2005 I had a partial colectomy (they took out about 8" of my intestine).  In October 2006, I had surgery to repair a hernia caused by the colectomy.  August 2011, when I was in ICU with c.diff and salmonella, I had an 11mm kidney stone lodged between my kidney and bladder and they had to use a laser to "blow it to heck".  I still need another hernia surgery and a repair of my right shoulder.  Also some dental surgery.

I have had a few surgeries in my lifetime.  Never liked to be cut but if they save your life from pain, I guess they are worth it.

The only surgery I have had is a c-section when I had my daughter 3 months ago.

No thank the Lord.  

Yes, several, the first a tonsilectomy at age 5. Also gall bladder, sinus, hematoma on my leg, and most recently the removal of excess tummy tissue.

I had surgery for crossed eyes when I was around 4. Cataract surgery in both eyes (done 2 weeks apart) a few years ago, surgery for a partially detached retina around 2 or 3 years ago.
(wow - reading this it looks like my eyes have been my major problem!)

Let's hope that's all there will be.

No.  I am supposed to have my foot worked on if it ever is possible. 

Nope. Well, I had a spider bite frozen and lanced off my arm when I was a kid, and the podiatrist had to clean out an infection in my toenail bed a few months ago, but those probably don't really count. I've had teeth pulled and fillings too.

Hope to have my tubes tied someday soon!

I had an ovarian tumor removed when I was 28 and had my gallbladder removed at 32 and then at 34 I had cataract surgery in both eyes.  I really hope I'm done for a little while
