Hey everyone, I have a question. When we first rescued bumblebee he was constantly releasing the worst farts you'll have ever smelt. I know worms and diet changes can cause this sometimes. He's been wormed and has had a consistent diet for a month now, but he's still tooting, just not quite as often. What could be causing this?

P.S. He hasn't had any diarrhea for about a month nor any other digestive issues.

My Mia tooted forever, or so it seemed, as a kitten. Change in diet did'nt make any difference (and yes she had been wormed). Finally around 7-8 months it just stopped.  No reason to have. I think she just grew out of whatever was causing it. Mac has never farted though Smelly ones at least) and he is still a little one (6 1/2 mnths).

My Lily farts constantly! And she's 17 weeks. I am definitely hoping she grows out of it, I think she has made her farting her secret weapon, if she doesnt want to be held or were doing something she doesn't approve of, she farts, lol. Seriously though this is the gassiest cat I've ever had!

Bumblebee is the same! If he gets spooked he turns into a skunk. Our if he falls asleep it's like it just goes right through him. We have no idea exactly how old he is... When we rescued him he had all his teeth so he had to be at least 6 weeks but he was so tiny. It's been about 5 or 6 weeks since we got him and he's still super itty bitty.

The diets may have ingredients that the kitten has an allergy to or intolerance for, or it could be that the food is too rich.

For example: One of my girls gets the worst gas if she gets anything with chicken in it.

My Spuddy was a nightmare when she was a kitten. She used to run up to you, let rip and run off, ususally when I was lieing down in bed so I couldn't easily escape. The smell was unreal. Fortunately as she grew up she stopped.

I'm glad there's still hope yet. We're taking them with us when a drive across country to move in a few months, and we do not need stinky kitty farts all the way there.
