I just wanted to give you all an update on what is happening with me. Since I am unemployed with no insurance, I qualified for emergency Medi-cal which will cover all the costs for my breast cancer treatment and surgery. I am so thankful since it is going to be quite costly. It is full coverage, so I might be able to get my teeth fixed at the same time.
I am not going to be able to get the surgeon I wanted since he does not take Medi-cal. The scheduling clerk at his office was really rude and condescending to me.
I did call CBCC, which is the largest freestanding cancer center on the west coast and they do take Medi-cal. They requested my medical records and I finally got the appointment to see the oncologist. I will see them on Friday.
I am so thankful to my husband, friends and Church family. They have been so supportive. I am also thankful for the people I have "met" here and on Facebook. I have received notes of encouragement and even a "Cancer Bag" from Kelly's (Angels Mommy) Mom that included several items.
I will keep you posted after my appointment on Friday.
