hi, I'm trying to make the move from free feeding to scheduled meals. the problem is teddy the one who really needs to scale back always ends up regurgitating the next meal. right now they get two timed meals per day, one at breakfast one at bead time, they get a limited amount of kibble after their morning (1/2 cup blue buffalo) meal and whatever is left gets taken up after work. for their timed meals they get either 1/4 can each or 1.5oz raw. not really sure if that's enough. anyway I would like to get them 100% raw but until they loose the kibble that won't be possible.

Can you help us help by providing a little more detail?

They were free feed kibble before? Were they eating anything else besides kibble?

And when you feed them now, they get a wet food meal of some type in the morning, and then you put down 1/2 a cup of kibble for them to eat as they want to. If there's any left, you pick it up about... 9 hours later? And how much longer after that do they get their next meal? On average, how much kibble is left? And do they eat all of the wet food at timed meals?

How long after the 2nd meal of the day does Teddy reguritate? It's only that meal? He doesn't reguritate the morning meal? Is any kibble left out overnight? How long between the last meal of the day and the first meal the next day?

before I started changing up their diet last year they were fed only kibble. the first change I made was to switch their cat chow to the blue buffalo. they did get canned food on occasion as a treat and some table scraps.

right now they get two timed meals per day one at 8 am and the other at 9 pm either canned or raw and they get kibble from 8:30- 6:30. the amount that gets picked up can very some days they barely touch it others its empty regardless they always Finnish their timed meals. they do not get kibble overnight and I've never had an issue with the morning meal.

I've tried going to 4 timed meals at 8, 10, 4, and 10. I tried this when I had some time off work, no problems. when I went back to work I kept the same feeding schedule I was home for the first 3 then at the 10 meal the food went down at 10 the bowl was empty by 10:02 and at 10:05 it was on the carpet. after a few days of that I went back to the kibble.

I have a feeling it's stress related but I have no idea what to do about it.
