Hi!

I'm thirty-one yrs old.  I live in the U.S.  I've owned a seal point Siamese before.  Currently don't have any cats, but have two rescued/adopted dogs (yes, I know this is a cat site).  I've never been to any cat shows, however have seen a program on them.  I've taken a cat breed quiz on animalplanet.com and out of the 42 results, I like the Chartruex & Scottish Fold.

Thanks!

I know I posted over in the Breeders Corner about the cat breed selector quiz and got scolded for "incorrectly" choosing a breed.  But if that's the way I want to narrow my choices-why can I do that?

I don't know much about breeds, but IMHO a quiz like that could be helpful in giving you an idea about different types of cats.
I think it's all about being a responsible and loving caregiver to whatever cat or kitten you chose.  Welcome to TCS!  It's nice to meet you.

in transition...
LOL, I've done those quizzes before and think they're a fun way to explore different breeds! Obviously, going to a show, seeing the cats in person, and meeting people very familiar with them would be more educational, but not everyone lives within traveling distance of a cat show location. If someone only has a casual interest in purebreds & isn't planning on running out to adopt the first breed recommended without investigating further, what's the harm?
They just might be a good starting point for narrowing down what breed would really capture your heart!

Exactly! I have owned a Siamese, traditional applehead (adopted as a stray), though it was discovered by his behavior he was born a stray. Also discovered the breed wasn't for me.  That's one of the reasons I took the quiz, though I do have some preferences in the cat breeds.
