How do I know my kitten's tapeworm medicine worked?

I found evidence of tapeworms in my five-month-old kitten yesterday and immediately took her to the vet, where she was tested (positive for tapeworms and nothing else) and given a one-dose treatment (it was a pill, I think Drontal?) to get rid of them.

I was told she'd likely pass the worms in 24 hours. It's now been about 36 hours—kitten has visited the litterbox multiple times and is acting healthy and happy. Do I need to tear apart the poo to ensure that she passed the worms? Should I just assume it worked as long as I don't see any more segments on her? Has anyone else given their kitten Drontal, and did it work?

Thank you!

Drontal is very effective but you often don't see the worms pass as they sort of dissolve.  Have you treated for fleas?  The two often go togeather.

Yep, we treated kitten with Revolution yesterday, even though she doesn't have any current signs of fleas. I'm not sure whether I should ask for her to be examined for worms/fleas again, or just assume they worked? If only animals could talk!

Revolution and drontal is kind of..overkill as drontal is broad spectrum and treats hookworm, roundworm and tapeworm. Revolution, in addition to fleas treats hookworm and roundworm, (and ear mites) but NOT tapeworm.

The usual treatment for de-worming is another dose three weeks after the first. Since your kitten has had a revolution treatment, make sure your vet gives you droncit this time, which is for tapeworm only.
