So my little kush got spayed November 14th
We adopted two more cats on November 17th one male and one female and they got spayed/neutered on November 18th.

The spay on the 14th had dissolvable stitches and the other two had glue. My question is can all three now be bathed? They all wreak horribly and I NEED to get them bathed while my husband is still here to help! He deploys tomorrow and I have no clue how these two no cats are going to react to being washed yet.

Yes they can be bathed now, but why do they all smell horrible?

The two that came from the humane society were dirty. The male was just smelly from being in there and never having been bathed period. And I saw why...as loving a cat as he is he was horrible to wash. He bit and scratched both me and my husband and ripped down my curtains in front of my sink with his BACK legs...

The female cat hates being confined and so when she was at the shelter she would tear apart her cage daily. She would throw her litter everywhere (pee and poo included) and pace around and freak out. When I first "met" her she was matted with clumps of litter that was caked in her own urine and feces. I asked if they could wash her before her spay so I wasn't bringing such a dirty animal into my home considering I have a 19 month old but they said they were so short on staff and volunteers it was impossible. So I brushed her to loosen the matted pieces and baby wiped her as good as possible but I'm a clean freak and I'm sure even non clean freaks wouldn't want that running around their house! Lol. She's a great cat though...did AMAZING in the bath =] I was such a proud mama! She did the best, even better than my kushkush and she was bottle fed since 2 weeks and has always had baths since then because she was completely flea infested when we found her and her litter mates in an alley. I HOPE TO GOD fatman won't need a bath again while my husband is deployed. For 7months he is STRONG and bit, clawed, and tried kung fu-ing his way out of that sink!

Oh....and my original kitty smelled terrible be because the two new cats and her all play and roll around and love on each other. Most of the stink probably rubbed off from the female cat with the enclosure issues though.

Aww poor dirty kitties.

How are you bathing them?

Some cats like to be placed into somewhat deep water, others like just an inch or so and some none at all. I use a shower hose attachment and no water in the sink at all, and find mine all just stand there calmly.

Least you got it done :)

Same =] I put them in the sink one by one and use the hose attachment. I don't put the water up high so that way I can place it right up against their fur/skin so the sound of the spray and such don't freak them out. But they still hate it =P

I hope I never have to bathe fatman again! It was terrifying!!! He was biting and scratching and tearing down my window sink curtains...which is crazy because he's the most mellow out of the three. He lets you hold him like a baby and loves his belly rubbed. He's the most skittish though but I still wouldn't think he would attack us the way he did. Kush has bit and scratched us and she doesn't bite us while being washed. She scratched but its not purposely just just because she's grabbing. Puta is the calmest and yet she was the meanest towards the two other cats. Her and fatman are the most loveable towards humans but puta is in your face while fatman needs time to warm up and spends most of his time upstairs and is still getting used to everything. But he backed down to everyone and didn't challenge them. Kush was the original cat but when fatman and puta came in puta tried being top cat until they all finally got along and started playing. So I just never saw him being the one to act like that!
