I found The Cat Site through while conducting an internet search on cat health.

I recently had my cats (ages 10 & 11) vaccinated – They normally only get their Rabies vaccination but I have to board them next month so I am forced to vaccinate.  They were left alone for 3 days after receiving the vaccinations - not an uncommon occurrence.  It did not appear that they ate a lot while I was gone, as a lot of food was left. I supplement their dry food with canned daily, so I immediately gave them some, both ate a small amount.

The younger cat, Amos immediately vomited after eating and the vomiting continued for the next 2 days. I took him to the vet where extensive blood work was done and showed a slightly elevated ALT level. The veterinarian thought that he may have hyperthyroidism. The TSH test took an additional 24 hours but came back normal. He was given antibiotics intravenously and fluids over the next 2 days and started Clavamox on the 3rd day.   He slowly started eating again and seemed almost ravenous at times.  Two days after the last dosage of Clavamox, the vomiting returned.  I went back to the vet today for 3 more weeks of Clavamox treatment.  If no significant improvement in 48 hours, the vet will order an ultrasound of his liver and gall bladder.  He had his dose of Clavamox onight and ate a small amount within 20 minutes of the dosage with no negaitve results.

Amos is a small cat with a normal weight around 8.5 lbs.  His weight today was 7.4 lbs – almost a 1 pound loss in 2 weeks.  The veterinarian believes that this is an infection and nothing more serious. He does not believe that this is a reaction to the vaccines. I am very concerned because Amos has a lot of anxiety issues and it is very traumatic for him to go to the vet. Each trip takes a lot out of him and I also will have to put him in a kennel next month which will be very stressful.

(It was determined that my other cat, Andrew, had a dental issue.  His tooth was extracted and he is eating more normal.)

I have read through some other threads where there were similiar issues to what I am going through but was wondering if anyone had any thoughts?

Hi and welcome to the Cat Site! :wavey:

I'm sorry you are having these issues. :(. I am going to move this head to the Health forum where you will get more responses. :)

It's interesting that he's throwing up when you take him off the meds, especially Clavamox which commonly causes an upset tummy in kitties. What are you feeding him? It's possible that he might need to go on a bland type diet until he's better.

He is eats dry Science Diet for Mature Cats and a variety of canned foods to include Fancy Feast, Little. Friskies. Before he got sick he was eating a lot of boiled chicken. He gets bored with hs food and liked variety. A blanddiet might be an option, maybe I should try the chicken again. Does clavamox Aldo cause weight loss?

The vet seems to think it may be his gallbladder and said if he doesn't start feeling better he will schedule an ultra sound. I am thinking it maybe better to have that e before he looses more weight.

Yes, weight loss in a kitty is very serious and should be checked out asap. Could be almost anything but please do get it looked at.

Now Andrew is throwing up and crying out in pain. What is wrong with my cats! He just had a blood panel done 2 weeks ago when Amos had his. He had a broken tooth and couldn't eat but has been fine until now. He vomited yesterday and early this normal. I don't know what to do

You need to call the vet and/or get him to the ER vet sooner rather than later.  This is definitely not right.  He could even have a blockage in his intestines or something.  You don't need to wait any longer.  Get him to the vet NOW.
