What's an average amount of ash in pet food? What's unhealthy/too high?
Also: I asked this question before but I can't find it... what is an appropriate calcium/phosphorus ratio?
I THINK what I read was that average ash in dry food is about 7%, and for wet foods no more than 3%? And I think the calcium to phosphorous ratio i supposed to be about 1.3:1?
The acceptable range for cats is from 1.17:1 to 1.4:1 which is the range found in small prey animals such as mice, rats and rabbits (rat carcass analysis
