I have a six year old cat female (fixed) that has been puking up for almost a week now once or twice a day, random times ussually at night. Some of it is the color of her food thick but blended other times it forthy white and she does this gagging sometimes before. We recently moved roughly two weeks ago and i know she was scared of the basement the first week but now she fine and goes down there on her own. She eats and drinks and her fecal looks normal. She even seems more happier here. I called my vet and they said it prbly just the moving causing stress. I never had a problem with her puking before we moved. The city mentioned reports of aursenic in the water could that be causing it? I changed her to bottled water a day ago though and this mourning she still puked.

Watch her head when she has those gagging fits. If her head goes patella to the floor she might be having breathing problems. My cat has asthma and he was pucking and having gagging/wrenching fits and we took him to the vet for that. She noticed his abnormal breathing and did a chest X-ray and saw fluid in his lungs. Does she ever just puke like white foamy stuff?

Have you also changed her food or introduced any new flavors? I had a cat that couldn't eat any canned fish flavored food. You might want to try feeding her only turkey or chicken canned food and see if that helps.

I gave my kitten cat food one day and in the middle of the night  Thunder was throwing up all of a sudden. Bella doesn't throw up but after Thunder does she is just fine and hasn't done it since. And believe me, it gags me so much I feel like throwing up myself.

What kind of food are you feeding them? So now the kitten is vomiting and not the female 6 yr old? And I know that wrenching sound and it is bad. Ugh...poor kitty.

I would look at what you're feeding her next.  Have you opened a new bag of food or new can?  It could be the formula's changed and it doesn't agree with her system any longer.

My cats were both going through something similar a few weeks. We went through xrays and blood work but the vet could.not find anything significant. He believed that it maybe a virus. They were given an appetite stimulant, anti nausea med and predisone. They are not vomiting and eating now. There energy level isn't quite normal but in time I am sure they will. Ask your vet about mdications.
