HI!
Here's my situation...
I have two girl cats named Lainey and Willow. They are four year old tabby sisters and have always been a bit shy and skittish but also mild mannered and sweet.
About a month ago, we adopted an 8 week old kitten who came from a mostly feral community. A woman is in the process of rescuing all the kittens from a colony who lives in an Amish barn, His name is Mowgli. Mowgli was shy for the first couple days but then became a wild child, attacking me, my fiance and the two girl cats constantly. Playfully attacking but attacking.
Last week, we brought home our fourth and final kitten, Roku. A beautiful seal point siamese who is about 9 weeks old. He is so well adjusted.. not skittish at all. Loves people. Does well with all the other cats.
Mowgli can't get enough of the new kitten. He wants to play with him constantly and for the most part, Roku is ok with that. Mowgli is bigger so we sometimes have to pull him off Roku because it seems like an unfair fight and Mowgli plays too rough for Roku.
My biggest issue right now is that Mowgli is terrified of everyone but me and my fiance. He runs and hides as soon as someone comes in our apartment and comes right back out as soon as they leave. He seems terrified. I even tried to sit in the room he was hiding in with my friend and talk softly and offer him bacon but he wouldnt come out until she left. Roku was ALL over me and my friend.
Is there anything else I can do to help him like other people? Will having him continue to bond with Roku (who LOVES people) help? He's now about 12 weeks old... will become more or less skittish as he grows up? I didn't realize how feral his community was until after I adopted him and I'd really like him to be a happy and sociable cat.
Any comments or advice would be much appreciated!
