What the? where did the?
how'd they get so BIG?
Emrys' kittens are 8 weeks old
I am still to this day amazed at how ROUGH kittens get with one another at this age, it's equal to 4 year old human kids taking spiked baseball bats to one another and calling it "play" lol.
anyway, as far as I know they are pretty much weaned, I haven't seen them nurse for a few days, but that doesn't mean they don't nurse at night, Emry still has milk.
I wonder, does having a completely wild parent have any effect on the initial behavior of the kittens? none of them are particularly cuddly, despite being handled constantly since about 2 weeks old, they don't like being picked up and only a couple will sit or lay by me when I sit on the floor, otherwise they pretty much ignore me.
First up is Sokka, he is the biggest HAM I have ever seen, and is probably the friendliest of the bunch, he loves to have his belly rubbed.
He is also HUGE, a tiny short haired version of Big Red (one of the feral toms around here) at 8 weeks old he wieghs 2 pounds 7 ounces. I so wish I could keep him, but I have a rule of no boys, I don't like toms in the house, neutered or otherwise.
Then there is Bolin
He is..well, if the pictures are any indication, he's kinda skittish, doesn't really like to be bothered, he is one of the lightest kittens, only wieghing 1 pound and 3 ounces.
Then there is Korra(and Sokka, who insisted on being in the pictures lol)
She is the brave one, the first to do anything, which ofcourse is followed suit by her brothers and sisters. She wieghs 1 pound 5 ounces
She's the quiet one, not really bold nor nervous, more in between she weighs 1 pound 2 ounces
And "Momo" now re-named Kevie (Big E sound)
She is JUST like her mother, grouchy most of the time, wants to be left alone, wants attention only on her terms, she will be staying here as I have fallen in love. she is the heaviest of the girls and weighs 2 pounds exactly. that is not a trick of the light, btw she does have super dark stripes on her legs, the ones on her body are super light.
and there there is Katara
I love her feet, her tan foot has pink pads, the rest of her feet have black pads
She is still very much the spastic loner, doesn't like being touched, doesn't like being held, just does her own thing. she wieghs 1 pound and 4 ounces, yet size wise she is the smallest of the 6.
I am also amazed at how they are starting to fill out, Azula, Kevie, and Katara are very thin-framed, like Emry, Bolin, Sokka, and Korra are all thicker bodied.
I love these little guys to death, but I am SO ready to see them off to their new homes, I made the mistake of letting them explore the upper part of the house yesterday since I didn't work and I had the house to myself, big mistake, within 30 minutes they had managed to pull the tablecloth (and everything else on the table) off the dinning room table, (including a bowl of sugar) and they had knocked a relatively heavy potted plant out of the window, and then proceeded to track wet dirt all over the living room
