I just got a kitten two weeks ago from one of those rescue agencies (he is three months old) and he seems healthy but he sneezes several times a day. As I recall he has been doing this since I brought him home. Other than the sneezing he seems like a healthy kitten, he eats well and I don't see any discharge from his nose or mouth. Now the vet says I should bring him in and they can put him on antibiotics. I don't want to start him on that if it could be just allergies. How do you know if it is allergies or something else? He is due his final FVRCP shot now but the vet said to hold off on that. Any suggestions?

Listen to the vet. The kitten probably has some sort of URI, possibly a virus that causes them, so he needs to be treated/get better before getting the FVRCP shot or else it could just make him much sicker.

I would hold off on the last vaccination until the sneezing stops. It could just be a slight upper respiratory infection. They seem to hit about 2 weeks after a kitty comes home. As long as he continues to play, eat, sleep, and use the box normally, all is well. If you notice any change in behavior or eating habits, then something else is going on. Of course, he could be on the tail end of an URI and the sneezing is lingering. Keep an eye on him.
