Hi, i will be moving from Kansas to Pennsylvania in about 4 to 6 months and would like to start a cattery. I love bobcats and would like to start with them. I know nothing about breeding any cat and really want to do it right.
Could someone lead me in the right direction and put a timeframe to it?
I would really appreciate your input.
Thanks

For a typical cattery you start by showing neuters for several years, learning about the breed and getting to know other breeders who can mentor you.
Then you start with one or two females and use your connections to mate her.

So it takes 3-4 years at least before your first litter is on the ground.

No idea about how one begins with wild cats like bobcats, I imagine there are permits required depending where you live.

If only it was 3-4 years.  It's been more like 10-15 for me and I've moved twice to get to live in a suitable house.

I did say at least 3-4 years
The minimum time it would take. And yes a suitable home is very key to breeding, having enough space indoor and out, enough places to separate if needed since hormonal cats don't always get along.
