hey all,

so today I was looking for my cat, Zala, and I was searching everywhere, until I heard a purr coming from under my blankets, and there she was, her little head peeking out between the folds of my blanket. I just thought that she was looking cute, so of course I took out my camera and began to take pictures of her, until she got a funny expression and sneezed so hard it shook the whole bed. when I looked closer to where she was after the sneeze, there was a little wet spot under her nose on the blanket. from there she proceeded to have a wet nose and she was sniffly, her nose (which is usually light pink) turned a harsher shade of red. from there she kept on opening her jaw halfway and licking her nose *a lot*. does she have a normal cold, or something more, like a fever? (I figured since people usually get cold when they have fevers then cats might?) what do you think? should we take her in to the vet to get checked or what?

additional info- 10-11 pounds, 2 years old, short haired, pooping and peeing normally, eating and drinking normally, no vomit or diarrhea

one thing that might be causing this is that for thanksgiving, we had relatives over who aren't really compatible with cats, so we took her to the kennel for 2 days--at the kennel, she got her nails clipped and she had a bath. they bathed her with some sort of different-smelling shampoo which has made her smell a different color and (not sure) maybe made her shed a little more. (to smell like herself, she has been doing a lot of grooming- hairs stuck in throat or something?)

thank you for reading this

My cats are sneezing too. Same symptoms as your cat, except I cant tell if their noses are red because one has a black nose and one has a gray nose. I posted about this too. Hopefully we hear something soon. Mine havent been to a kennel though. But they are licking their noses a lot. But I dont see any discharge. Good luck to you :)
