Cindy has been behaving strangely lately.  DH thinks it's stress, and it could be, but I'm worried about her.  She is finding places to hide and DH isn't helping because he will "encourage" her to leave the hiding place and come out and "socialize."  Today I convinced him to just leave her be.  I've been concerned she isn't feeling well, it's just so hard to tell.  I know I'm rambling, but I'm very tired.  Today she didn't leave our bedroom at all, she was either in her cubbyhole, on our bed, or on the dresser.  About half an hour ago we were all in bed watching tv, she was laying on DH, when she suddenly got off, squatted down and peed.  I don't see any blood, and she went from there a few minutes later to the litter box and poo'd.  Then she ran downstairs and got up a game of chace with Swanie.  A few minutes ago she threw up a piece of cardboard.  DH always cleans the litter and he says he hasn't noticed anything unusual.  We did just treat her for crystals and the last time we took her for urine test a few weeks ago she was clear.  I am such a nervous wreck.  This is so unlike her.

Since she is a recovery crystal case, I would take her back to the vet to check her urine..... Sounds to me she is not feeling ok..... :vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes::vibes:

Oh no... trust your instincts. And the peeing on your bed is a big "Something's wrong, mom & dad!" :hugs: :rub:

I'd call on Monday to schedule an appointment. :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes: :vibes:

Thank you. I will be calling Monday for an appointment.  I was ready to take her to the eVet tonight, truthfully.  I've been very uncomfortable with how she's been behaving, but she is a very nervous nellie and get's stressed out easily, so I have been dithering and listening to DH (who is closer to her than I am), and he knows I am a worrier by nature so I'm not sure my instincts can be trusted.  She seems to be okay now, wandering around down here, bathing, etc.  I'm tired but I'm going to stay up for a while to watch her.

Hun, did we discuss using L-theanine? Spooky is also our most easily stressed kitty. I've been giving her about 50mg of L-theanine daily, and it seems to be really helping her. I'll reduce it to 25mg in a couple of weeks for long term maintenance. But she's out and about more, far more playful, interacting with the other cats more... Something to consider. :rub:

No, we hadn't discussed the L-theanine.  I've been wondering if the L-Methinone is affecting her.

Well, it wouldn't affect her behavior. She's still supposed to be on the urine acidifer? How long did the vet want to keep her on it? All it is is an amino acid that helps reduce her urine pH. But if she would naturally be stable at 6.3 - 6.5 at this point, it's possible it lowered it too much (that runs the risk of calcium oxalate stones).

Is she on amitriptyline? (Sorry, I don't remember. Many vets use it as an anti-spasmodic).

The vet wanted her to stay on it another 5- 6 weeks and then check her again.  I was concerned about that myself that it would lower it too much.  I have not been giving her very much, but I was worried that maybe she has a sensitivity to it or something.  No, she's not on amitriptyline or anything else at the moment.  Now she's back up on the back of the recliner, she's been spending a lot of time up there the last few days.

Yeah, not being able to test her urine pH at home makes it tough. :hugs: Well, hopefully they'll be able to express her bladder while she's there so her urine can be tested again. It's frustrating when she was just there a few weeks ago and all was well. :rub:

Would it work as well to get some feliway plugins?  I used to have them around at various times, when we first got her, when she had a vet visit, etc.  I know she got very stressed out when I was putting the methigel on her paws every day and before that giving her the antibiotics and the methigel.  But that's been several weeks since we stopped the methigel, so I just don't know.  I will print out some information in the links and take it with me to the vets on Monday.

I don't know about giving it to Cindy, but I may get some to take myself
