Greetings~ I'm Kei & I'm new uhh to this.. forum. Hope we get along. Umm...
I hope I'm not in the wrong place... Uhhh... And I apologize for my English...

Well, here's the story.

We're used to bring home abandoned stray kittens from a street, and it's frequent these dishonored people abandon new born kittens at wrong place and wrong time. We're currently having 8 cats which they were also once found abandoned in the street. A few days ago we brought home two black kitten, one of them have white stripes. They are about three or four weeks old.

The one with white stripes were brought home after the first. Both were lively in the first few days. But something strange happened throughout one next day. One of my 8 cat are golden, and suddenly she became attracted to the both kittens. As if the kittens have became her mother or something. She would drag them to a place hidden from sight, and covering them with her warm body. She would also groan over nothing. What is happening? o_O

The first black kitten refused to eat and drink that day, though we didn't pay much attention after past 22 in the evening. It just keep itself close to the golden female cat together with the one with black stripes. Though I saw the kitten gobble up an inch of food around 4 AM, that's all. What is happening?? o_O

ThankSssssss.

She adopted them, simply. Not that unusual, aspeceilly as they are small kittens. It happens males can also adopt and be quite mother-alike.

The groans are her way to talk motherly to them. Moms (and friendly toms) do make a lotsa of peculiar, friendly noises!

The black kitten did thrived, but suddenly refused eating, but went better after the foster mom warmed him, yes?  My guess is he got cold. They kittens dont eat when cold.  Mom warmed him up, cheered him up too, perhaps helped with pee and poo (ate it up too) - after it, he could eat again.

They, and you, are lucky you found this golden extra mom!

A couple of advices.  You have now 8+2 cats, whom you did saved from the streets.

Splendid!  But, please, dont take in more, dont risk to become a hoarder.

Try instead to find them good adoption homes!

And also, do neuter them.

Tx for helping these small brethren of ours!

Welcome to our Forums!

Good luck!

We're worried at first, but later the kitten eats again, I was relieved. Thank you!

We're unable to release them back to the wild as we're completely clueless how can they survive after staying with us so long.
You're right it seems that we're taking care too much cats, we've no other choice since people are kind of ill-mannered in my country.
It won't be easy to provide them homes other than with us.

ThankSSSssssssss!

Im not saying it is easy. Otherwise you would surely already done it.   :)

But still, it is the way to go. So you have a plan with these rescuing them.  Find friendly people who can give them good homes.

There are almost surely also others who want s to help cats. Try to find them, and cooperate.

Releasing?  Cats whom you are sure manage OK outside, whom you know had been long time homeless, and did OK. Or even, you know they were born homeless and grew adult. Neuter them, and

If necessarey, you can release them. After they are neutered.

If neutered, and you know they manage OK outside, it si not so horrible ot let them out again. Not good and well, but OK.

You do of course NOT release out cats you do understand were home cats.

It is important you dont become a hoarder yourself...  I suspect many hoarders did began as rescuers. Some probably fantasize themselves being rescuers...  But hoarding is terrible, to the humans, neighbours - and all the cats.

You didnt mentioned neutering. Can you do it?  Normally, it is a important key in all rescuing work.

I know in some countries there is law against neutering...

What country are you in?
