a few days ago me and my girlfriend came back from our parents house and a cute little black and white cat was sat on our door step soaking wet with no collar was just sitting there starring at the door purring, as we tried to get past it to open the door she just casually walked into the house and starting walking around meowing.
we felt really bad for this cute little cat so we gave it some tuna and a bowl of milk, she's a really friendly cat, she always comes up to us and puts her head onto our hands for us to stroke her. this was about 3 days ago and that night she just did not want to leave she would walk to the door and sit and stare at it so we just assumed she was ready to go home(if it had a home) but as we opened the door she just turned away and quickly walked back into the living room, so she ended up staying over for the night.
the next morning we let her out and later that day she was at our back door meowing, we opened the door and she came running in, so we fed it and she stayed that night too.
now today she has returned again at our back door meowing so we have let her in again but today she is acting rather different, she seems to be pacing around the kitchen and conservetory, looking out of the back door walking around, then sitting by the back door and looking out just meowing, but when we open the door she doesnt goes out she turns around walks off and then returns to stare out the door when we close, she looks at us meows at us then stares out the door. she is currently in the conservatory starring out the door in silence but when i go out there she meows but she doesnt want to go out.
as i mentioned earlier she has a saggy belly, so im wondering if she has had kittens outside somewhere and it is currently pouring down with rain and its really windy. she doesnt like the wind.

another thing she likes to do is rub the side of her head on everything.

i dont know what to do we just feel really sorry for it but we have also become really attatched to this little cat.

can anyone tell us what this behaviour means? we dont really want to chuck her out on the streets in this weather either.

Yes, Im wondering too about possible kittens.  But if she had kittens outside, she would go to them when she could.  So, I think if there were kittens, they are no more, but she still lacks them.

You did quite right helping her. It is what one shall do if one can in such cases.

She is apparently no semiferal.  She is either astray or dumped, and probably freshly dumped. Freshly dumped dont have experience of surviving outside!  So one should always help them if possible.

But, if she is "just" astray, she has an owner who is anxious and seeks her.

It may be why she is walking to the door the whole time.

So, do keep her in.  If she wants out, give her a chance - IF there are kittens outside.

And seek after owners!!!  Put up Found etc...  Dont describe her too closely. Let her owner prove ownership by exact describing.  If you dont want to give your exact adresse (there ARE peculiar people outside), use a prepaid card to a cell / mobile phone.

People missing cats do also set up ads themselves. They ask at cat shelters nearby. Vet offices.

Ask there you too...

Keep us reported!

Welcome to our Forums!

Good luck!

well me and my girlfriend moved to this street about 5 months ago and we always saw this cat in the streets everyday and night, and when we came home the other day to see her soaking wet and sitting at our door we had to let her in.
we were wondering if she used to live her with previous owners of this house and they might of left her here when they moved, because on the furniture there are scratch marks that seem to be made by a cat so we were wondering if she used to live her, because she always used to be outside meowing, but we would also see her on the shed of the nextdoor neighbours, but when we asked her if she has a cat she said no,
so were in a rather weird situation, were both happy to keep her because shes really friendly and great with our 3 month old baby boy, shes great company, but she might belong to another family even though ive never seen her go to anyone else's house in this street
