Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

in the US, we celebrate Thanksgiving. A time to give thanks!

But since there's a Random Contest thread on giving thanks (hint!)...My question is.. Do you shop on black friday? What do you hope to get on sale?

I am debating if I want to attempt Walmart to get my dad a Blu Ray player.. oi.

Ugh, no way. I had to deliver pizzas on Black Friday and it was HORRID. Traffic, bedraggled employees, pushy people...I'll stay home, thanks.

I haven't shopped on Black Friday in many years. I may shop from QVC or HSN sitting in front of my TV but never outdoors. I know some people enjoy it but I just rather shop from home.

I'm staying home. If I don't get shot by drunk deer hunters on the way to the store, I will get trampled by crazed bargain-hunters when I get there.  This is a no-brainer.

l think it's a mass influx of Canadians that make up the shopping hordes. We have groups of people from work who go down together to buy their Christmas electronics.

We have a sale up here at most stores to entice the cross-border shoppers to stay local. l just picked up some clothes at 60% off!

I've shopped on Black Friday a couple times, but this year I won't be. Don't have money to spend since we are saving it for a house/downpayment/closing/etc. Slept in, having French Toast for breakfast, and relaxing. Have already heard about fights, tramplings, and people trying to steal other peoples' items in parking lots! (Some lady asked a guy for help bringing in her washer/dryer at an apartment complex.... except it wasn't even her truck or items!)

This is the first year that we didn't go out on Black Friday in several years. Why? Because I'm sick! A terrible cold. One of my co-workers has had this cold now for about a month. Nasty cough, really nasty cough. He even went to the doctor a couple times. I was staying away from him as much as I could, but on Monday we all ended up in the planning room together. I had to use his laptop and the rest is history. On Tuesday night, I started in with the sniffles and by Wednesday, I was doing my own coughing thing. (It really could have been anything really, but I'm blaming it all on John anyway.
It's all his fault. And his little girls, who both had the cold and gave it to him.)

We called everybody Wednesday afternoon and told them that I had a cold and if they wanted to bag dinner on Thursday, we would understand. I still had to cook for Rick and me. Nobody said they weren't coming and a few people showed up early to help me with food prep. We all had a really nice time....but I can't help but wonder who's going to be the first to call me up and say "I have YOUR cold!" At least they were warned.

I was in bed last night by 7:00 with the electric blanket on HIGH. I was freezing to death. The idea of going out this morning to shop didn't appeal to me at all. So no shopping today.

Nope, I usually don't go out in that mess, plus usually have to work. I did make one stop on the way to work this morning though. I needed some brown boots, & Belk's had some on sale.

I got a $69.00 pair of boots for $19.99!!!  So Happy!!
