Hello, I just connected on this site......right now my twelve year old female cat is pallative, she ws just diagnosed with lung cancer, and the vet said she is only now using one lung to breathe with, she is now on predinisolone to keep her comfortable , so every day is precious with her, she sleeps with me at night and coughs most of the night, on a pps, she probably is at 60 percent, so i am doing my best to keep her loved in her last days of her life, today she was at the vet and im sure she knows she is not well and is dying, its so sad, im preparing myself to say good bye to her soon. When she is at the piont where she is having a very bad time, i have made arrangement with the vet to say our goodbyes to her. I love her so much, i have had her since she was  a 6 week old kitten, bought her at a garage sale for five bucks

I am so very sorry about your precious companion.
 What is her name?

It is difficult when they can no longer be with us, but find comfort in knowing your baby loves you and will really never leave you but remain in your heart.
for you and your kitty.

I am so sorry about Gracie's illness.   I lost my little Nobu last year to a lung tumor.  Miserable thing, cancer.

Your description of how you're spending time with your precious baby is so moving.  She sounds like a sweetheart.  As hard as it to do, the best thing is to try to act as you normally would with Gracie, which it sounds like you're doing.     Keeping her world as constant and predictable as possible is comforting to her.

A friend of mine believes that animals do not know the concept of death, so they do not fear it.   Gracie just knows she's not feeling 100%.

Though your heart is breaking now, I know you agree that you got a priceless return on that $5 you spent 12 years ago.

Many blessings to you and Gracie.
