My kitty gets this constant sneezing attack, don't know why. She's blowing out her nose and crouching for a while constantly sneezing. Is it the fur annoying her nostrils or something serious? I just hold her in my lap out of worrying when she starts lol.

Well hello again Mehr
, glad you asked this question, it's something many of us have been through.

When I got two new kittens, one was having the constant sneezing fits you describe.  It was very frustrating because the vet told me it was a suspected Herpes Virus, but nothing was working and he was having difficulty breathing because his nasal passages would completely stop up.

It turned out after testing that we were dealing with Calici virus, not Herpes.  There were also two other things going on, Bordatella (kennel cough) and Mycoplasma.

Once Rufus was on the right medication, the sneezing stopped.  A high quality diet is also important.

I had also wondered (and hoped) if there wasn't an irritant causing this at first.  At least here in the states, viruses are so prevalant that is most likely the case here, for it to be viral.  There are many ways to manage your cat's health if this is a viral issue.  I am interested, since you live in Pakistan, what are the veterinary resources like there?

Please let us know what you find out.  There are also some great threads in this forum that can help you deal with how to manage this.

I just realized you mentioned in your introduction thread that she is Persian, or at least part Persian.  Could this maybe explain the sneezing, if she has a pushed in nose?  She is so pretty, BTW.

We have really good vets here in Pakistan, don't trust the media on that one LOL. We're quite a developed country.

I was halfway worried as hell when you mentioned the Herpes Virus but thank goodness for Kennel Cough. I try changing her diet and usually she pukes it all out, especially something seafood based.

I think that's the problem too. Its just a part of being a furry semi punched face cat, the reason I don't get alarmed and feel the need to rush to the vet. Thankyou for the help! x

Oh, I have no doubt, and believe me, I take the media with a grain of  salt anyway. But I was curious.  We are not as progressive here as some would believe.

You may want to have vet check her just to be sure
Also, if you can get her on a grain free canned food and eliminate the seafood and kibbles altogether, that may help.  You will find good information on the 'Nutrition' forum . Best of luck and please keep us updated.

You sound really worried about herpes virus. This causes colds in cats and can't be passed to humans. Any upper respiratory infection should be treated by a vet, especially if she is throwing up her food. Cats shouldn't go very long without food. I hope she is feeling better soon.
