Please help! My beautiful, loving, very friendly and smart long-haired cat is missing. I no longer live in the Wilmington, DE, area, but my cat lives with my parents there and ran off on one of her "adventures" six days ago. This is the longest she's ever been missing. I know she is likely hiding under someone's bushes, but my parents haven't been able to find her. If anyone finds her or could give me any guidance as to where else to post this, I would really appreciate it!

She is super feminine with a high-pitched mew and very gregarious.  Also, she is 16 years old.  Is it normal for a cat that old to do this?

Her home is on Severn Road and she answers to Winnie.

I'm so sorry you Winnie is missing. Check out the sticky at the top of the SOS forum on Tips for finding a lost cat. There are a lot of good suggestions for things you can do. What have your parents done so far to try to find her? Are the neighbors aware that she's missing so they can keep an eye out as well?

Thanks, Goldy!  My parents have been looking for a week now.  All the neighbors know now because I e-mailed six of the civic representatives and the president of the neighborhood civic association.  They put up more fliers for me, in addition to the ones my parents had already made.

I heard yesterday that their next-door neighbor had seen Winnie hanging out by a rabbit hole in her backyard on Sunday.  Winnie was with the neighbor's two outdoor cats, whom she likes to "hang out with" sometimes...we think there is a good chance that the two other times Winnie disappeared this year, she was with those two cats.  Each time she returned, she showed up on the side patio, which is next to that neighbor's house.

But the other two times, she was only gone for 3- to 4-day trips.  This one is going on 8 days now.

My mom says that because they are having someone come to put a new roof on the house on Friday, maybe Winnie will be attracted to the commotion and come back.  Do you think she will?  Or might she be scared of it?

Don't you think it's weird that a 16-year-old female cat would just go out prowling with two neighbor cats like that???

I hope she comes back soon.  I can't relax until she does!
