My sister-in-law received a call today asking her if she would be home for a delivery tomorrow.  She responded that it must be a mistake; they hadn't bought anything.  When she hung up the phone, the woman called back.  She told her that it wasn't a mistake - they were delivering a washer and dryer to their house tomorrow.  My brother and sil currently don't have a working washer and dryer.  I think both of them broke about the same time.  They have been using my mom's or going to the laundry mat.  Some anonymous good Samaritan actually bought them a new washer and dryer!   The woman from the appliance store said she couldn't give my sil the name of the person who purchased the set, but told her everything was paid for including the $80.00 delivery fee.  My sil suspects it is a couple that shops at the grocery store where she is a cashier, but doesn't know for sure.  They live in a small town where everybody knows everybody, so I guess it could be almost anyone.  Whoever it was, they certainly have done a kind thing for a family in need.

Doesn't that make you feel good about people! And the fact the people who organised it have chosed to remain anonymous is 'giving' in the true sense of the word.

What a heartwarming story. It gives you faith in human nature and reinforces that there are more good people than bad people out there.

The washer and dryer were delivered and installed.  The benefactors are still a mystery, but my brother and sister-in-law certainly do appreciate the gift.

All day Tueday when my sister-in-law was doing laundry, she kept going out to the laundry room just to hear what the new washer and dryer "sounded like".  They are just so excited.
