When I have flowers out in the yard I will normally cut some and bring them in and I will occasionally buy some, but I don't always have them. :)

None. Last time I tried, the 'baby' tore apart and dragged the fake arrangement all over the house not that it was a big deal, just a dollar store Christmas thing but Da Magpie sure did a number on it.

I'd love to have fresh flowers.. but Monet would just eat them! There's no place to put them out of kitty's harm!

I have no live plants in my house unless I'm sprouting something in the kitchen window.  I have some flowers outside and a small veggie garden too.  But indoors we don't have anything right now.

I do enjoy floral arranging as a hobby so I have some wreaths and things for different seasons and I have a few things in storage...like my wedding bouquet, which I made from silk flowers.  But that's it.  At our last house I had a lilac wreath I'd done in high school that had held up well and I had a ledge over the closet in our bedroom where I put the flowers that had been on the pillars of the church from our wedding.

We have eight no good, very bad cats in the house. Flowers, fresh or fake, don't stand a chance.

Just this morning, around 4:00, we were awakened by a loud crash in the living room. Several years ago, my mom had given us a gorgeous wreath of silk flowers for our anniversary (knowing that fresh flowers are simply known as "lunch" in this house) and I hung the wreath on the wall above the piano. For some reason, Tabby has become quite intrigued with the wreath and is doing everything in her power to get to it from the piano. Never mind that there are pictures all over the piano (pictures of the kids, grandkids, cats, etc. And when she made her leap this morning and landed back on the piano, everything went flying to the floor! Crash! Boom! Bang!

And did I mention this happened around 4:00 this morning? We were not amused. I moved the wreath to another wall where, hopefully, she won't be able to get to it (unless she climbs the wall and to be honest? I wouldn't put it past her one bit.).

Nothing is safe in this house. Nothing.

(You should see my office at work, though. Tons of plants of all kinds. I just love plants.)

My husband brings me fresh cut flowers from the grocery store every two weeks. I put them on the dining room table.

We no longer have fresh flowers in the house, or any plants that aren't cat grass or catnip - there are far too many plants that are poisonous to cats! NEVER get flowers from the lily family, every part of them are super-duper poisonous to cats, even a little bit of pollen from a lily flower will kill a cat if ingested and not immediately put on IV for days. Once the symptoms of kidney failure start, the kitty has only a 50-50 chance of survival with immediate treatment, and probably will sustain kidney damage. Many people don't even know what happened to their cat, maybe some pollen fell to the floor and the cat walked on it and licked his paws.

There should be warnings on cut flowers, especially lillies!

Totally agree with you there

I am highly allergic to lillies so wont have them anywhere near here.

But did you know that some infact a lot of the ones I know - florists do not know that lillies are deadly to cats we had one tell me and my mam when buying flowers for my grandads funeral that they were fine around cats and after I pointed out how stupid she was and my mam did she went bright red
