Hey! My cat, Venus, was adopted from a foster/rescue situation. She had previously had an owner, but the slew of vet information that showed listed as a few months after her first adoption (lots of flea treatments, ringworm, mites, ticks, etc) shows me that she was likely removed for neglect and/or being in an unfit home.

Anyway, now she is with us. We give her monthly doses of Revolution as prescribed by the vet. She doesn't seem to itch but she does drag her rear end on our carpet. Her worms tests came back clear, though- what else would it be?

Mmm, could be, I suppose. I would assume that the vet did check that, but that's what I get for having my husband take Venus to the vet instead of going myself!

My vet doesn't routinely check anal glands in cats - I have no idea what they do with dogs.  So hard as it is to say this, it might not be your husband's fault!

Scooting is a classic sign of anal gland problems so yes, a vet visit to get them checked is called for.  One cause is soft stools so if your cat has those then her diet needs graudally changing to firm them up.

We have one cat that scoots, and he's been thoroughly checked for everything.  In his case, I think it's just habit.

Her stools are pretty firm as far as I can tell- then again I don't always see them "freshly made." I'll check, though, thanks!
