I'm looking for a reputable pet insurance company in Canada. Please provide the name and also a link if you can! Also if you could let me know what your experience has been with them? Thanks!

With my last cat adopted from Humane Society, adoption came with a free trial for pet insurance w/ Petsecure (their home base is out of Wpg).   I ended up extending it.   And just yesterday I added my newly rescued kitten to my plan as well.   They have different levels of coverage and you can choose from different amounts of a deductible.   I have never actually submitted a claim (knock on wood) but I have found their customer service people to be wonderful and great at explaining everything, all options.   Here is their website:  http://www.petsecure.com/

At the current Vet clinic I'm at, they must have some agreement with Trupanion.....another pet insurance company......but I spoke with them yesterday and they sound good BUT only provide coverage for accidents and illness......nothing preventative (like yearly check-up, dentals, etc).   As my cats are all indoors I decided I'd rather have some preventative type coverage so continued with Petsecure.   I'm near Calgary :-)

Hello!

I live on the West Coast of Canada. When I adopted Bella from the SPCA in late August, trial insurance from Pet Secure came with her. However, I did some research and decided to go with Purina (Pet) Health Insurance after it expired .This company offers imho the most comprehensive coverage at reasonable rates. There is even a discount if you enrol three or more cats which cuts down the monthly rate even further. Hope this helps. Of course it goes without saying that everyone is different and need to find what works for them. Purina works for me and my three fur babies (Maya, Mira, and Bella). Good luck!
