Wet vs dry food

We bought our kittens (at the time) from the cats protection agency and we kept them on the suggested diet... Felix wet kitten pouches and dry food. Only after a few weeks of being home we were at the vets and both of our baby boys had crystals and very high ph and blood in their urine. They were put straight on royal canin s/o wet and dry and tablets. This has been going on for a year, at one point the vet advised wet only diet, but my boys love there wet food... They would cry until they had their proper dinner, the vet gave the thumbs up, but said only a little. I then came up with the idea of filling a cat bowl with (filtered) water and then adding the biscuits, they lap it up, drink all the water and eat all their biscuits and wet food, the last test for both was the best yet, new test due this month... Lets hope hey. Another vet did advise that if it was him, he would have them in a dry diet only as it is designed or crystals and would be ok, my opinion is everyone has a different opinion, I know my boys like both and that's what I give them. I'm just very happy they are getting two saucers of water each a day, can't be bad. I do worry about them and it was a hard year, but I did everything and more to get them better.

I would feed a wet only diet, especially for cats with crystals. I hope they are doing better.
