I have a working kitchen!

Or I will after this morning. My nephew came in last night and started putting the faucet into the new sink. He's coming over this morning to finish up and by noon, I should have running water in the kitchen once again. We've been doing dishes in dish tubs in the bathroom now for about a month now and it got old quickly.

The granite counter tops really look lovely and I'm thrilled. I've been working on getting the kitchen back into working order and it's been a slow process. Part of the problem is that the rest of the moulding still hasn't come in yet, so the cabinet installers haven't come back yet. And I still need the new China cabinet to be installed and the toe kick to be put on the floor cabinets. Until the China cabinet is installed, I'm kind of at a standstill. And so is the electrician.....he needs to come back in to finish the under-cabinet lighting

No new floor this year; I simply can't afford it. So next year, we'll do the floor, the backsplash and the new fridge. Nonetheless, with the changes we've made so far, the kitchen really does look nice.

Will take pictures, but I'd like to wait until everything is finished for this year.

I know your very happy to be getting this new kitchen.  For someone who loves to cook as much as you do, you deserve to have something really updated.  I hope you will be very satisfied when all is finished.  Looking forward to seeing pics too.

We have water! Which means we have a dishwasher! 

I don't mind cleaning the house. I don't mind doing the laundry. I don't mind washing windows (finished that yesterday, in fact, while working outside). I don't mind washing the floor.

But I absolutely despise washing dishes.
