Just wanted to share that I have cared for a feral cat colony for about 12 years now.  About maybe 4 years ago I found a group called ca-r-ma.org that helped me spay/neuter more then 40 adult cats and took 20 kittens for adoption. 2 years ago I had a coyote issue and lost about half of my outdoor free roaming cats. Built them a kennel and now have a total of 34 cats in my care..and see one free roaming outside. So I thought if anyone needs ideas or help I can usually help or find out great info as I am now a volunteer for 2 chapter of ca-r-ma.or. Our focus is spay/neuter through TNR. I have been to many, many s/n clinics and have lots of pictures on my fb..that show surgery, ear tipping, shelter ideas and lots of other shots of my many cats too...

Hi, welcome to TCS!  It's very nice to meet you.  I'm sure many people here can benefit with your experience with ferals.  DH and I are currently working with one feral, Moses.  He's gone from running at the slightest indication that anyone is looking out the window to eating and sometimes sleeping on the back porch.  I think we're making progress.

it takes time and does not work for every cat. I can say that I had a male cat that I called an outsider, he fed here and slept alone on the site but did not really get along well with the others. When they were moved to the kennel I noticed he had a urinary issue. Took him to the vet and he was sent home with meds and his veterinary food. So he was moved inside to the bathroom...he stayed there for many weeks, and in that time he became my friend after never having touched him in many years. He sleeps beside me almost every night now. He still will not allow me to pick him up but he sure likes to be petted and to head butt!
