My cat went into labor at 1am and had her first kitten at 1:30am, the second at 2:15 am, ate both placentas then nothing happened afterwards. I went to lay down, woke up at 8am and see it's still only the 2 kittens.

Since i woke up, 2 and a half hours ago, it seemed she has been pushing on and off. I felt her stomach and i feel a kitten or more moving around still, up high though.

She seems to be resting, letting the kittens feed, i rub her belly and she puurs. I'm not sure what to do. I checked the canal as a vet suggested to see if anything is blocking and there isnt anything there.

what should i do? they suggest bring her in however it's so expensive. she doesnt seem to be in pain at all. and she is being a good mother to the two that were born so far.

help

Can you feel anymore kittens? Is she bleeding? Keep that kitten warm. Wrap in a towel, clean it off little and see if you can put it down to eat. Has she let it nurse?

SO long as she is active and there isn't a whole long of heavy, constant bleeding, you shouldn't have much to worry about, cat labor and delivery can take as long as 24 hours, though all the kittens, even a large litter should be born within 4-8 hours.

Birth usually only takes a few hours, but it can be 1-2 days between kittens especially if she was allowed outside or around an entire boy for a longer period, then kittens can be conceived over a few days.

Generally so long as they are settled and caring for the kittens it's ok, but if in active labour and she's unsettled with nothing happening, that's a problem that needs a vet.

Unfortunately having kittens is expensive, if you feel she needs a vet - as you know your cat best and your instincts, then take her in no matter the cost. Raising and fully vetting the whole litter is yet more expense so I hope you're prepared for the next 12 weeks you'll have the kittens.

Good information here!

If you can feel more in there, and they are moving, give her 24 hours to see if she has it herself, if she doesn't you need to call or go to the vet. If she is in labor and pushing for more than 2 hours, she needs to go the vet immediately, because that normally indicates a problem. What I did was set an alarm for every 2 hours to make sure she wasn't straining or in pain, it's better to be a little sleep deprived than have something go wrong.

Hope all goes well, and keep us updated!
