So far out in left field I got lost
Well today Dad has hopefully had his last surgery(this one was a major one). The Dr. removed the part of his intestines that were choked off by the scar tissue from his surgery in 1988. We were told that Dad would have become even more sick or even died in a few days if this had not been corrected since the part of his intestines was already spilling really nasty stuff into his body.

He is now in ICU on a resperator(sp) and heavily sedated to keep him from pulling out any tubes or Iv's. I broke down
when I walked into the ICU and saw Dad on all of these machines to help him breath, however, the Dr and the nurses assured me this was so his body could rest and not a permenant thing.

Now the healing process can begin and now after a month in the hospital Dad will finally get to come home soon.

Sounds encouraging that all the invasive stuff is over with, and he can start to heal. Sending many ((healing)) vibes his way for a speedy recovery. (Hug) to you.

Sweetie, it's such good news that he's on the road to recovery. It's so hard to see them hooked up to those machines...you have every reason to cry. I wish I were closer to you...I'd give you a big hug & a soft shoulder to cry on!

Hang in there...we're all here for you. Just get a hold of me if you need to talk, ok?
((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) & many get well wishes to your Dad!

Thanks I haven't really allowed myself to cry during this whole month of wondering and worrying about Dad. I know that the whole family is tired, especially Mom who hasn't left his side during this whole ordeal. You got to love it when you see this couple together, after almost 50 years and still as much in love as the day they were married

I agree...it's so touching to see that their love is so deep & true. I just smile when I see little old ladies & men holding hands. It warms my heart to see such love.

Take of yourself Girl...your family too. It's so draining on the entire family. Still sending mega prayers & good vibes to you & your family!

blondie, I am glad your dad is recovering. I still remember seeing my dad in the hospital after his heart surgery. It is so hard to see someone you love like that. Sounds like your dad will get lots of help from having your mom around. My parents are like that, too, after 37 years of marriage.

Take care of yourself.

What a long difficult month this has been for you. You are long overdue for that good cry!

I'm glad they finally got in there to fix the problem. Intestines can wreak havoc. . . . he could have become septic if they waited too long. It's nothing to mess around with.

Keep in touch. We'll continue to pray and keep Zack in our thoughts.

Right here! :)
I am so glad to hear that your dad is starting to get better, and the worst part is over.
It´s wonderful that your mum and dad are still so much in love. I´m sure it has been a great help for him that she has been by his side all this hard time, and also to have the rest of his family by his side.
Now that hi´s getting better, you can realax and start thinking of yourself, don´t forget yourself, you have to rewind and relax.
