Some may have read my thread, i've been rehoming spayed/neutered kitties for an old woman being evicted. I found one gorgeous kitty, Ginger, a home with an old man about 30 miles out of town on his land. He already had one male neutered kitty- a black and white tuxedo kitty named Oreo. I thought it was a good home. I was WRONG. Included is my email with him. I'm bawling right now, i'm scared for Ginger. Oreo did nothing but growl at her, and now he's trying to claim he was a mean, evil cat when he was both indoors and outdoors and totally friendly and had lived with him for who knows how long. What do I do? I want to go to the police. Are they going to do something about it??? I want Ginger back too. I want him to have some sort of punishment and Oreo some sort of justice. Help anyone????

THE MESSAGES GO FROM MOST RECENT TO OLDEST. Removed his and my email address.

Oreo is the vicious male cat. I stopped by the Anderson animal shelter.  we talked about animals, cats, dogs that can not be adopted. This black Oreo cookie cat was one.

They wanted

$20, I had already given them $35 for this male Oreo cat! Like I say, Ginger is now already back in the house.

A home for him?  Vicious.  Not adoptable.  May of  even snarled at small dogs.

PSS!.  Since Oreo is choked, Ginger has already come out.  Put come food under the house and she made a sound behind me.  But still very, very nervous. (Now in the house!)

Cats must sense death!.

I had to do it. Didn’t want to.  Took some 1/4’ nylon rope and successfully choked Oreo between 2 parts of a tractor. Oh! how it hurt to do that!

But I have to wait until this weekend.  I am leaving this am for 2 days + delivering to San Diego.

Will send you a message Friday pm or Sat am.

I have horseradish fans all over.

I'm sure she'll have to come out once she gets hungry ;) and sounds good. I can be there Wednesday if that works for you!

No problem! Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday are my days off so those would be best if one of those work! Do you want me to bring up both females at the same time? Just let me know- I have two other spayed ones available and ready to go at any time! Glad Ginger is working out- sorry Oreo doesn't really like her. Maybe with girls taking over he'll just give in ;) lol. Kitties who don't like each other normally avoid each other anyways- i'm sure they'll be fine! $40 will be quite fine. Thank you! Just let me know when works for ya! Have a great day!

Internet been out for about 2 weeks.  Local tel co problem.

Will take 2 more females, altered if available. Later this week.  At this time, “Oreo” will not accept her.

Let Ginger out and Oreo snarled.  And hid under the house.  Can’t get her out.  So Oreo is inside.  If need be, will get rid of him.

Must be gone tomorrow.  Let you know when to come up. $40 for gas?

I am so glad she has taken to you so well! I'm sure Oreo will get used to her, he's probably just a little upset he's not the only kitty in the house now, haha- used to having run of the place on his own! I'm sure they'll be good friends soon! And sounds great, just let me know when and I will bring another spayed female up for you! :)

Today, Sat report.  Ginger is taking to me very, very well.  But I must keep her in for now.  Oreo so far is not accepting her.  I am surprised, a male not accepting a female.

When you bring up another female that knows Ginger, maybe that will over whelm Oreo and he’ll behave.

I will give you some $ for gas. Later this coming week.

I am quite sick to my stomach reading this..... I would want to drive over there and get Ginger back right away but would not go alone. I would also report this to the authorities as you have his posts. BUT then again, it worries me for you and your safety. This man is out of his mind and should not have any cats at all. I am not sure what you should do about this but I would go over there and get Ginger. I am SOOOOOOO sorry....... How were you to know this man was so evil. :shame: I just don't know how to advise you in this situation. I know you must be terribly ill with worry for Ginger. OMG I hope others come along soon with some advice and assistance. :cross:

Also, I would contact that Anderson animal shelter he mentioned and tell them that their payment policy for turning in an animal just cost one its life. Who knows how many others have met similar fates.

Farmers are like this. They do it all the time; I do not know a single farmer who wouldn't do this. If it's illegal in your state (it's not here; you can do anything to an animal legally here), you can show the e-mails to law enforcement. But I wouldn't expect much :(.

http://www.shouselaw.com/animal-abuse.html

California leads the nation by enacting the strictest laws punishing abuse of, cruelty towards or neglect of animals.

Although there are over 50 California laws that specifically deal with the mistreatment of animals, there is one primary law that regulates animal abuse / neglect -- Penal Code 597 PC.

Penal Code 597 PC prohibits

And because law enforcement agencies aren't typically present to witness these types of violations, they encourage the public to report these crimes. Many animal rights' organizations, law enforcement agencies, and prosecution offices have on-line reporting pages and/or telephone hotlines that are available to the public.

Licensed veterinarians ("animal doctors") are also under obligation to report suspected incidents of animal abuse / neglect.

Penal Code 597 PC California's prominent animal cruelty law is a wobbler. If convicted of this offense as a misdemeanor, you face up to one year in a county jail and a maximum $20,000 fine.

If convicted of this offense as a felony, you face 16 months, or two, or three years in the California state prison and the same maximum fine.
