Please send good vibes to my friend. She's had an incredibly horrible stroke of luck in the past few days.
Her long-haired kitten has a bacterial infection which has given her uncontrollable diarrhea. This is a very precious kitten, but my friend has been cleaning up kitten diarrhea (and vomit) for a week now, and has been cleaning vomit and diarrhea and bathing the kitten several times a day. Her veterinarian has told her there isn't much he can do for this kind of infection, and she basically just needs to wait it out. No telling how long that will take.
On top of that, this morning she received word that her adult cat (who lives with her parents) escaped from the house and ran into the street, where she was hit by a car. She's still alive, but had to be rushed to the vet ASAP. She has many broken bones, will need to have her tail amputated, and is currently being kept in an oxygen tent. It's not clear if she'll survive, but it looks bad.
Not only is this terrible for the poor kitties, it has also been extremely hard for my friend... she is very close to all of her felines, and these two in particular really helped her cope with the loss of her last cat, who was hit by a car two years ago. This is proving to be a very rough time for her entire family, so please keep my friend in your thoughts... and send good vibes to her kitties.
