Well as I am seeing more and more houses with their christmas decorations up.....

When is the earliest you will put your decorations up

I am starting to put mine up on the 29th of this month only because I am having people round on the first so I want it to look all festive :D

We don't put Christmas up until birthdays are done. My husband's is Dec 13th so we usually start putting things up after the 14th. One holiday at a time here :)

I have done it on Thanksgiving Day. By Christmas I was really tired of it. So usually we do it about two weeks before, then leave it until we are ready to get rid of it. Last year we didn't do much decorating as my husband fell off a ladder and broke his back. I bought a smaller tree I could do myself. We normally had a 5 ft. wreath over the garage door, but I am never going to ask him to get on a ladder after what happened. My huge tree and the wreath are for sale now.

The earliest anything goes up is the weekend before Christmas, but most years the decorations and tree go up Christmas Eve and come down by January 5th at the latest. I got in the habit of decorating the tree Christmas Eve when we had a potted tree. Now we have an artificial one, but Jamie takes most of the decorations off it every night, so it doesn't stay up much more than a week.

I used to put them up the weekend after Thanksgiving. That's also when my mom goes decoration crazy at her house :lol3:

This year, the BF and I need to get a tree. He says he hates Christmas, but I told him we have to have a tree (even if just for the kitties to sleep on the bottom branches in addition to feeling "festive" LOL) at least. I have ornaments from different places I've been that I'd like to put on it. I bet my ex will be bugging me to take the ones in the attic soon too - just realized we never got into those boxes when I moved my stuff...

I live alone in an apartment, so I really don't decorate much. I do put my little tree up around december 1st, or whenever I can get it from my parents' place

I will start decorating the kitchen this weekend as I have off work on Monday for Veterans Day. The kitchen should be pretty much finished except for a few pieces of crown moulding and two cabinet knobs and hopefully, we will have the China cabinet installed fairly soon. Nonetheless, I'm ready to get my winter dishes out and do a wee bit of decorating.

We will start the main Christmas decorating the weekend of Thanksgiving. Rick will start putting up lights outside and we'll start putting the trees up and decorating them.

l don't like to put anything up before Remembrance Day, it seems disrespectful. So mine usually go up on November 12th. l'm itching to get the tree up already - l hope it doesn't end up as destroyed as my curtains!

Our wedding anniversary is Dec.6, so I usually do the decorating then.

My step-FIL passed away a week ago.  At lunch after the funeral, I jokingly said, "I think I'll go home and put up the Christmas tree".  My MIL thought I was serious, and said, "why not?"  When we stopped by her house a couple of days later, there were Christmas decorations out (no tree, tho)

Well, it used   to be 12/1, but in the past few years, DH's family can only get everyone together Thanksgiving weekend, so, on Thanksgiving (it's only DH & I, and I no longer make a special dinner), I decorate. It drives me nuts--TOO early for me! This year, it will be even earlier: 11/21! Arghhh. It's also why I no longer buy real Christmas trees--they wouldn't last through Christmas. Last year, I bought an expensive, but very nice and realistic, easy-to-assemble fake tree. It wlll save me money in the long run.

I always try to put mine up on the day after Thanksgiving. It's just been a family tradition for as long as I can remember, and I like to carry on with it! I love spending that day at home where it's nice and quiet, decorating the house and listening to Christmas music. :)

I host Thanksgiving here, so definitely after that. I need to take all the fall decorations down and get them packed away first. I often cut greens from my yard and make sprays for under my windows, so it can be time consuming. Decorations start going up outside towards he beginning of December.
