Hi, for those of you who have seen my introduction I am already the proud and loving mum to 14 house cats.
I have a problem...
Initially Billy (long haired black and white) started to pop around for "snacks". His mum knew and was quite happy, She lives next door and we get on really well so if she was working late and Billy needed tea she knew he would be provided for
.
Then about a month ago came Milo, Because everyone in the area knows how soppy I am about animals, many neighbours came to tell me about this "starved" tom cat in the area. I found Milo's mum and returned him. She has to tie cupboards shut to stop him eating. He is in lovely condition and looks really healthy and I have no doubt he is looked after but he is the most sackless tom cat I have ever met (will go with anyone for food). He also gets quite aggressive if not fed on demand, He quite often will have a hiss and a swipe at me while he is waiting for me to feed him. I am concerned about possible thyroid problems and have spoken to his owner about this but dont know what else to do, He's not my cat and its not my place to get pushy with my opinions. I make sure I buy high quality hypoallergenic food for him so i'm not going to compound any health issues he might have.
Finally and most concerning is Snowflake as we have named him / her (beautiful white and black long haired puss). Tipped up about two weeks ago and nobody claimed her / him. I was really worried as we live near woods and animals are often dumped around us. I have since found out that she came as a rescue to a lady aboout 5 doors up and escaped as she didnt like the cat already in residence. Since then apparently she has not returned to the house.
So, she / he is very timid and as yet we cant touch. We are making sure food is available to her / him when ever he / she pops by. We have built a cat flap in our shed (which is very spacious) along with a sealed heater, bed etc. I just feel rubbish if he / she doesnt know where they belong. With 14 we are pretty much at capacity (although the bathroom is currenly vacent) and I hate the thought that puss may not feel she / he belongs anywhere. Been having a mare about them all being out near a busy road two days before bonfire night in any event!!
So any ideas would be great!
Thanks
